Brett RachelName: Brett Rachel

 

Where did you grow up? I grew up in Texas City, Texas just south of Houston.

 

What did you enjoy about high school? Being a drummer during marching season!  I enjoyed marching and we wrote some sweet cadences.  Every Friday during football season was memorable – including the time we hid our school mascot (a humongous stingray) in plain sight.

 

What degree did you earn in college? I earned my Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Houston – Clear Lake.  I earned my Master of Arts from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary where I focused on youth education and counseling.

 

How long have you been working with students? I have been working with students for 20+ years as a math tutor, teacher, student pastor, and a college planning coach.

 

What do you enjoy doing with your free time?  I enjoy spending time with my family, the outdoors, horticulture, sports, playing Madden football and watching the movie Elf because “smiling’s my favorite.”

 

What is an interesting fact about you? I met my wife during the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney, Australia.

 

What do you enjoy most about being a CAA coach? It is life changing!  I have always been committed to helping students realize who they are and where they are going.  Through CAA, I enjoy helping them prepare for and make a smooth transition to college so they can start fulfilling their purpose in life.

 

What do you like best about working at College Admissions Assistance?  Every coach is very passionate about helping students succeed.  The atmosphere is great and we enjoy working together.
