College Admissions Assistance is proud to announce our Grand Prize winner for the 2020 Senior Survey Scholarship Contest. Out of hundreds of entries Skye Richardson was chosen as the Grand Prize winner and will receive a $500 scholarship. Skye is from Georgia and will attend Georgia State University in the Fall to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in marketing.
Georgia State University, in Atlanta, was the best fit for her situation. The internship options are plentiful in the city and Georgia State has connections within the area to help foster connections. Ultimately, she wants to be in fashion marketing. Skye has always been into fashion and grew up drawing different outfits in her spare time. In high school she joined DECA and started competing in marketing competitions. She won several awards in the marketing apparel category and this helped confirm her skill set.
In addition to DECA, she was part of the National Honor Society chapter at her high school. This helped her to give back to her community through volunteering opportunities. She gave of her time at a local food pantry and a clothing closet.
Skye is a gifted student and was accepted to all nine colleges she applied to last Fall. This fact really made her parents proud. Skye would like to thank her parents for all of their support over the years because they have been there for her. Her success has been rewarding for her whole family.
She told us that College Admissions Assistance helped the most by reviewing her college essays. She says it was part of why she was accepted to all of her schools. CAA also assisted her by giving her resources to discover schools in her area and out of her state. To our younger students, she would encourage them to be active and to try their best.
Skye’s next step is “entering into adulthood.” As she starts at Georgia State, she is ready to be more independent and learn more about herself as a person. We at CAA wish her the best of luck as she continues to grow and learn.
